Sketch Saturday #28

sketch-saturday-28Good morning folks!

It’s a beautiful crisp morning here on the south coast… but no snow for us again.  Here’s my DT card for the Sketch Saturday challenge which is being hosted this week by the lovely Mariska.  Mariska not only provided the wonderful sketch but also the funky stamped image of Lily with Snowman that I could play with. Thank you Hunni!  You too could be playing with an abundance of Lily and Billy stamps as there are some to be won for this weeks challenge.  more about that later.  Don’t forget to check out all the other DT cards… in the words of Craig Revel-Horwood they are A-ma-zing!sketch-saturday-28-a

For my card this week I have used DCWV papers, snowflake cardstock stickers and sentiment . My Cuttlebug, Nestabilities (oval & scalloped oval), snowflake embossing folder. I also used some pink glitter board and ribbon from my stash.  As mentioned above Mariska sent me the image and I coloured it using my Prisma’s, sansodor and paperstumps.  This time for the fur trim on Lily’s clothing I used white glitter flocking, I’m afraid you can’t really see it very well in the photo’s but it looks fab in real life… honest ;o)

Here are the stamps that have been kindly donated by Melissa,  the owner of Pink Cat Studio

Good luck with the challenge and have a great weekend.

Pollycraft Monday Challenge

poppicraftsHi folks!

Here’s my entry to the Pollycrafts Monday Challenge.  I learn’t about this challenge and DT call over on Ria’sblog (If you want inspiration drop by her blog, it’s crammed full of beauties).

I have combined the sketch and use of free download papers as I would like to be considered for the DT. My printer ran out of ink, but I managed to print the papers I wanted…phew!

The sketch has been provided by Paula (from Pollycrafts).  The DP are a free download from the blog.  I have also used green microflute card.  The character is one of Pollycrafts beautiful designs.  I used Prismas and sansodor to colour as well as a touch of pearlidoodles.  poppicraft-aThe stamp I used on the panel the character is matted onto if from my collection, Hmmm… think it’s a Basic Grey one but not 100% sure.  I made the flowers with punches, wire and pearlidoodles.  The sentiment is K&Co and sheer ribbon is from my ribbon mountain.

I have enjoyed making this card.  Thanks for looking.  Any comments would be greatfully received.

Sketch Saturday #27 sponsored by Whiff of Joy!

sketch-saturday-27-aHi folks!

It’s the weekend, Yay!, and Sketch Saturday time again.  Another great sketch created by the talented Jo.  This week there is a super prize up for grabs, but more about that later.

For my card I used the BG Wassail papers.  Cuttlebug, embossing folder, square nestabilities, CB corner die and The Go Kreate Amsterdam alphabet.  This alphabet set is great because it comes with these cute little tag shapes that are just the perfect size to mount the die cut letters.sketch-saturday-27-b

The character is my very own ‘Daisy’ design, available at The Craft Barn.  I have chopped her straw hat off and given her a more Christmassy one.  For her fur trims I have used a snow writer and sprinkled a bit of glitter on top while it was still wet.  The bows are all hand tied, for the ones in her hair I cut the ribbon in half first.  Daisy has been coloured in using Prismas and Sansodor.

The other girls on SS DT have come up with some amazing designs for this sketch.  Check out their blogs for some amazing inspiration.  For your chance to win the beautiful new release Elisabeth Bell design ‘Herb with bird’ stamp, join in with the fun on Sketch Saturday!

Have fun!! Hugs,  Sandra xx

Demo Day at The Craft Barn

Hello folks!  demo-day-221108

Last Saturday I had the privilege to demo one of my favourite, and most frequently used crafting gadgets… the Cuttlebug, at The Craft Barn.  Needless to say I had a ball.  Thanks to all those who came and said ‘hi’ and welcome to any ‘newbies’.. great … you found my blog!!

Here’s a flavour of what I was up to.

For the first card I have used Mirri board to cover the card blank.  I cut panels and rounded the corners.  These I embossed using the Snowflake embossing folder.  I cut and embossed the large Cuttlebug snowflake.  I die cut some funky foam with the scalloped oval nestabilities .  I glittered on parts of the embossed white panels, the large snowflakes and around the scalloped edges of the oval layer.  I stamped ‘James’, coloured him with prismas/sansodor/paper stumps for the flesh and used cosmic shimmmer paints for everything else.  I drew and added the Bell James is holding as I thought it would be more appropriate for the sentiment, which I cut using Go Kreate alphabet dies and more of that funky foam.

demo-day-221108-aFor this second card I used some beautiful paterened paper that is available at The Craft barn, the script paper is foiled and slightly embossed.  This adorable bear is a Go Kreate die.  he’s just right for Christmas dressed in his Winter woolies.  I cut him using brown funky foam and a tiny bit of black funky foam for his nose.   The sentiment is die cut again using the Go kreate alphabet, Amsterdam.  I distressed the edges of the card using crimson copper dew drop ink.

demo-day-221108-bI didn’t have time to finish this last card.  Again I used ‘James’ such a great character for winter/Christmas cards.  James is one of Christine Dark’s wonderful characters and part of the Kadoodle range.  If you need some inspiration than look no further than Christine’s blog, such variety, such talent! (I may be a little bias… Chris is my buddy ;o)

This last card was a quickie.  I cut the large circle using my Nestabilities, then embossed and glittered it.  the coil for the bauble I drew straight onto the card blank.  The silver top to the bauble I drew and cut  out.  James was stamped, coloured (prismas/sansodor/paper stumps) and cut out. He was then adhered using glue gel to add dimension.  The card could do with a sentiment  and I would have liked a ribbon bow on the coil of the bauble but I didn’t have any with me.

I have more demoing and teaching dates coming up in the new year… will keep you all posted.

Hope you are all having a good week

Take care

Hugs

Sketch Saturday #26

sketch-saturday-26-aHi folks!!

Saturdays seem to roll around quicker and quicker these days.  Which is great as it’s Sketch Saturday time again. This week Jo has come up with another fabulous sketch. I’ve used the opportunity to add to my little pile of Christmas cards for those special folk in my life.

The patterned paper and wine textured cardstock is all DCWV.  I distressed the edges using a dewdrops ink pad.  I embossed a gold panel using my Cuttlebug. The little girl and baubles at the top are from the latest Tilda club collection.

sketch-saturday-26-bI cut round the baubles and layered them onto circles (die cut with my trusty Nestabilities) using glue gel to add dimension and so that I could adhere the tiny coils of wire I made to the top of each one.  I coloured the image with Prismas, sansodor and paper stumps. The sentiment is a peel off and I have accented this panel with coloured faux gems.  Looking at the photo I think I’ll add some glitter to highlight her wing. (will I ever learn when to stop ‘tinkering’ with a card?)

If you’re free today and want to come and chat/craft… I’m demoing at The Craft Barn all day today.  Hopefully see you there!

Hugs
