Good morning folks!
It’s a beautiful crisp morning here on the south coast… but no snow for us again. Here’s my DT card for the Sketch Saturday challenge which is being hosted this week by the lovely Mariska. Mariska not only provided the wonderful sketch but also the funky stamped image of Lily with Snowman that I could play with. Thank you Hunni! You too could be playing with an abundance of Lily and Billy stamps as there are some to be won for this weeks challenge. more about that later. Don’t forget to check out all the other DT cards… in the words of Craig Revel-Horwood they are A-ma-zing!
For my card this week I have used DCWV papers, snowflake cardstock stickers and sentiment . My Cuttlebug, Nestabilities (oval & scalloped oval), snowflake embossing folder. I also used some pink glitter board and ribbon from my stash. As mentioned above Mariska sent me the image and I coloured it using my Prisma’s, sansodor and paperstumps. This time for the fur trim on Lily’s clothing I used white glitter flocking, I’m afraid you can’t really see it very well in the photo’s but it looks fab in real life… honest ;o)
Here are the stamps that have been kindly donated by Melissa, the owner of Pink Cat Studio
Good luck with the challenge and have a great weekend.
It’s the weekend, Yay!, and Sketch Saturday time again. Another great sketch created by the talented Jo. This week there is a super prize up for grabs, but more about that later.
For my card I used the BG Wassail papers. Cuttlebug, embossing folder, square nestabilities, CB corner die and The Go Kreate Amsterdam alphabet. This alphabet set is great because it comes with these cute little tag shapes that are just the perfect size to mount the die cut letters.
The character is my very own ‘Daisy’ design, available at The Craft Barn. I have chopped her straw hat off and given her a more Christmassy one. For her fur trims I have used a snow writer and sprinkled a bit of glitter on top while it was still wet. The bows are all hand tied, for the ones in her hair I cut the ribbon in half first. Daisy has been coloured in using Prismas and Sansodor.
The other girls on SS DT have come up with some amazing designs for this sketch. Check out their blogs for some amazing inspiration. For your chance to win the beautiful new release Elisabeth Bell design ‘Herb with bird’ stamp, join in with the fun on Sketch Saturday!
Have fun!! Hugs, Sandra xx
Saturdays seem to roll around quicker and quicker these days. Which is great as it’s Sketch Saturday time again. This week Jo has come up with another fabulous sketch. I’ve used the opportunity to add to my little pile of Christmas cards for those special folk in my life.
The patterned paper and wine textured cardstock is all DCWV. I distressed the edges using a dewdrops ink pad. I embossed a gold panel using my Cuttlebug. The little girl and baubles at the top are from the latest Tilda club collection.
I cut round the baubles and layered them onto circles (die cut with my trusty Nestabilities) using glue gel to add dimension and so that I could adhere the tiny coils of wire I made to the top of each one. I coloured the image with Prismas, sansodor and paper stumps. The sentiment is a peel off and I have accented this panel with coloured faux gems. Looking at the photo I think I’ll add some glitter to highlight her wing. (will I ever learn when to stop ‘tinkering’ with a card?)
If you’re free today and want to come and chat/craft… I’m demoing at The Craft Barn all day today. Hopefully see you there!
Last week was busy busy for me, the weekend carried on at a cracking pace, hence my late posting for my Sketch Saturday DT contribution. Hope I am forgiven ;o)
Just had to ink up my new Tilda stamps for this card and aren’t these two just adorable! Due to my tight schedule this card was made in a record couple of hours… that’s a quicky card for me. Following Jo’sfabulous sketch I covered the base card with white glitter card. I used the crafters companion quick cards for christmas cd rom to print out the snowflake pattern straight onto 160gsm card. For the white vertical layer I embossed the snowflake pattern using my cuttlebug. I rounded all the corners with my pretty pink x-cut corner punch. I matted two of the blue layers with silver mirriboard. I coloured the ice-skating couple with my prisma pencils, sansodor and paper stumps except for all the bits I left white when I then glittered (didn’t come up in the photo’s but I promise you it sparkles) The sentiment is a peel-off… only about a million more of those to use up ;o)
I pleased to say that my sister-in-law saw a pic of this card on my camera and loved it so much that I’ve already popped her name in it for Christmas.
If you head on over to Sketch Saturday there are some Christmas goodies up for grabs as well as some stunning inspiration from my fabulously talented fellow DT members.
Tagged: I’ve been tagged by Jo (thank you Sweetie) If you really wanna read 7 bits of info on me then scroll down to October 4th my last ‘tag deposit’ is there.
Take care, hope you are all having a more relaxing November than me!!
It’s Sketch Saturday time again and this week Jo has come up with a fabulous sketch. I’m still a bit behind with my Christmas card making so I thought I’d use the opportunity to make another one… that and my new Stamp Galaxy stamps had arrived and I just had to use this little cutie.
There is also a prize up for grabs this week. One of my fellow DT members, Debbie, has generously donated a Sarah Kay Christmas stamp.
For this card I used Bo Bunny papers, cardstock stickers and faux buttons. The gold card I embossed using my Cuttlebug and fiskars texture plate.
I coloured the image with my Prisma pencils, Sanaodor and paper stumps. For added detail I stamped, coloured, cut out and layered the holly adorning his collar. I used red liquid pearls to add lustre and dimension to the tiny berries. I think the close up photo has just about picked up the glossy accents that I used on the eyes to add that ‘dewdrop’ look.
Take care and keep crafting!
It’s Sketch Saturdaytime again and here is my DT card for the challenge. Feast your eyes on lots more Gorgeous DT cards over on the blog. As you can see I’m still delving through the Cosmo Cricket set that I acquired recently. The patterned papers and boarder strips are all CC. The dark green boarder is made of felt and adds a lovely texture to the card. The leaves on this particular boarder are from a sticker sheet. Unfortunately they still had some white around them when pulled off so I stuck them to some card for extra strength, got my trusty precision tip scissors and hand cut them. I then shaped them with an embossing tool and adhered them to the felt boarder using glue gel to add dimension. A little time consuming but I like the end result. The little scarecrow, ‘Woody’ has been stamped a few times, coloured with prisma pencils-sansodor-paper stumps and decoupaged. Hopefully you can see the layers on the second photo. The circles and scalloped circle have been cut using my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities. I finished off the card with a double, sheer ribbon bow.
Thanks for taking the time to look. Your comments, as always, are greatly appreciated.
ps. If you are reading this before Monday then you still have a chance to Win Woody. Hop on over to the Kadoodle blog for more details.
I have not been online much lately so this is the first chance I’ve had to share my DT card for Sketch Saturday with you. I made this card for birthday swap I take part in on Crafttelly.com forum. It’s great fun over there, so come along for a browse and join in with the fun. Great folk on there.
For this card I used DCWV patterned paper. All mounted onto gold mirri board. The image is Precious Moments. I just love these cute characters. I’ve coloured them using my prisma pencils, sansodor and paper stumps. The swirls coming off the flower (held onto the card with a lush yellow MM brad) are Quickutz Revolution die and I have cut pretty green glittered card-stock. That’s pretty much it for this card. Nice and simple….. well it is when you follow a sketch right?
