Sketch Saturday’s DT Call

Hi Folks!

Jo over on Sketch Saturday has made a DT call.  The requirements are to follow the sketch, make two cards and make one of them a Christmas card.  I had so much fun making these cards.  For the first one I have used my new Kadoodle design ‘Little Leo’  He is one of the Zodiac signs, which I have coloured using my prismacolor pencils, sansodor and paper stumps. He has been cut out and adhered to the next layers (nestability rectangle and glitter board scallop rectangle) with glue gel to add height.  The patterned paper is from K&Company.  I have threaded ribbon (with great difficulty!) through the faux buttons and used stickers for the sentiments.  I didn’t stick these straight down but again used glue gel and adhered them to banners I had cut. I cut the scalloped boarders with fancy edge scissors.

 

For my second card I used Daisy, another one of my drawing for the Kadoodle range.  This time I chopped off her straw hat (cruel I know…) and gave her a much warmer fur one (well, I didn’t want her catching a cold!)  I coloured her as I did Little Leo but I used ‘snow writer’ with a touch of glitter sprinkled on for the fur trim on her hat and coat.  I have also added tiny ribbon bows to her hair.  The backing paper is from the Crafters Companion Christmas CD rom.  these were what was left over from a previous project (see below) I love it when that happens. The white strip of card has been embossed using the Cuttlebug and snowflake embossing folder.  I also inked the edges with blue ink.  The scalloped layer is white glitter board and the layer on to of that is one of the card inserts from the CD rom that I resized to fit and printed straight onto cardstock.  The sentiments are Hot off The Press.  I have taken a close up of Daisy to try and show a little more detail.
